OmniVision outs OV9740 image sensor for smartphones, media devices

Today OmniVision announced its new 1/6.5-inch OV9740 system-on-a-chip (SOC) CMOS image sensor. OmniVision make known the OV9740 is the first 720p HD SOC camera chip such meets Microsoft Office Communication and Skype broadcast criteria, and it's capable of delivering HD broadcast at 30 trim via second. The OV9740 was designed because mobile phones, smart phones, netbooks, notebooks, webcams, gaming consoles, portable media players, TVs, and set-top boxes.
